We live in a noisy world. Between our phones, our jobs, and the racing thoughts in our own heads, silence is rare. But we cannot improve our conscious contact with God if we never stop talking long enough to listen.
This is the challenge of prayer and meditation. It’s not about performing perfectly or using fancy words; it’s about attraction rather than promotion. We don’t have to “sell” ourselves to God or hype up our spirituality. We just have to sit still.
When we quiet the noise of our own will, we create space to hear His. The most profound spiritual growth often happens not when we are moving fast, but when we are completely still.
