We can pray, read scripture, and attend meetings all day long, but if we are ignoring the wreckage of our past, our spiritual life is blocked. Jesus is clear: reconciliation takes priority.
We must make direct amends wherever possible.
This is the action step. It’s where the rubber meets the road. We don’t just say “sorry”; we clean up our side of the street. We don’t get organized or bureaucratic about it; we just simply, humbly go to the person we harmed and ask how we can make it right.
It takes immense courage to knock on that door or make that phone call. But on the other side of that amends is a level of peace that no amount of running away can ever provide.
