Denying self and following

Dear ,
“Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me.” — Luke 9:23
We often wish that surrender was a one-and-done event—a single mountain-top experience where all our problems vanish forever. But the path of recovery is a daily subscription. Every morning, our old ego wakes up fully recharged, ready to take back the steering wheel and drive us into the same old ditches.
Following God means making a conscious, sometimes difficult decision every single day to deny our impulsive, self-centered desires and follow His lead instead. This isn’t a form of punishment; it is the path to lasting freedom. When we deny the part of us that demands control, we make room for the Spirit to guide us toward peace and sanity.

Pursue God actively today. Set a reminder for three different times during the day to simply pause and ask, “God, where are You working right now?”

Father, strengthen my faith as I seek You earnestly. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
Remember, seeking help is a sign of strength, not weakness. You deserve a life free
from addiction
Sincerely,
