Returning through honesty

Dear ,
“Search me, God, and know my heart… lead me in the way everlasting.” — Psalm 139:23–24
Recovery requires us to become spiritual detectives. For years, we lived in a state of denial, ignoring the warning signs and burying our true feelings under layers of behavior. We were lost because we refused to look at the map of our own hearts.
Honesty is the road back home. When we ask God to search us, we aren’t asking Him to find things He doesn’t already know; we are asking Him to show us what we’ve been hiding from ourselves. This honest review isn’t meant to shame us, but to identify the roadblocks preventing us from walking in “the way everlasting”.

Sit quietly for three minutes and ask, “Lord, what is one thing in my heart today that is keeping me from You?” Listen without judgment.

God, help me examine my ways and return to You. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
Remember, seeking help is a sign of strength, not weakness. You deserve a life free
from addiction
Sincerely,
The RGV Road to Recovery IA Team
