Thoughtful steadiness

Dear ,
“Give careful thought to the paths for your feet and be steadfast in all your ways.” — Proverbs 4:26
Living in recovery is like walking a narrow trail on a high ridge. If we daydream or stop paying attention, it’s easy to slip back into old ways of thinking. We don’t stay sober or emotionally healthy by accident; it requires “careful thought”.
Ongoing attention keeps recovery steady. It means being mindful of our triggers, our hunger, our anger, and our loneliness. By taking a daily inventory of our thoughts and actions, we can catch small deviations before they turn into major relapses. Steadiness is found in the small, daily choices to stay on the path.

Perform a “path check” at three points today (morning, noon, and night). Ask: “Where are my feet taking me right now? Is this path leading toward life or my old ways?”

God, help me pay careful attention and stay steadfast today. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
Remember, seeking help is a sign of strength, not weakness. You deserve a life free
from addiction
Sincerely,
