Secrets are heavy. They isolate us and convince us that if anyone really knew us, they wouldn’t love us. But the scripture tells us that while confession brings forgiveness from God, confession to one another brings healing.
This is where we break the cycle of shame. When we admit the exact nature of our wrongs to God, to ourselves, and to another human being, the power of the secret is broken.
