We often think a “new beginning” requires a perfect environment—a clean slate, a fresh bank account, or a problem-free life. But God says differently. He says He makes a way in the wilderness.
That is why the journey of recovery begins with a difficult truth: we must admit we were powerless over our addictions.
It feels contradictory, doesn’t it? To start a new year of strength, we have to start by admitting we are weak. But the wilderness is exactly where God does His best work. He doesn’t wait for you to fix yourself; He meets you in the mess.
As we walk this path, remember that our common welfare should come first. We are in this wilderness together. You don’t have to blaze this trail alone. When we surrender our need to control everything, we finally make room for God to do the “new thing” He promised.
