Picture an old, rusted iron pipe buried deep in parched, cracked soil. For years, nothing passed through it, leaving it completely dry, brittle, and empty inside. But when connected to a freshwater mountain spring, clean water rushes through the rusted channel, flushing out dirt, filling every inch, and pouring over into the dry ground around it until grass begins to grow. Our minds and hearts were like that dry, empty pipe, worn out by anxiety and the hopeless cycles of addiction. We tried to fill our emptiness with things that only left us more exhausted. True peace doesn't come from forcing ourselves to feel positive; it comes from connecting our hearts to a Power greater than ourselves. As we place our trust in God, He fills the dry channels of our lives with genuine joy and quiet assurance, spilling over to bring hope to everyone around us. |
