From Anger to God’s Grace
Finding freedom and a new beginning in Jesus Christ.
Have you ever asked, “Where was God when I needed Him?” Loss, betrayal, abuse, addiction, or disappointment can leave you angry at God—or unsure whether you want anything to do with Him.
You can begin with the truth about your pain. You do not have to hide your questions or repair your whole life before coming to Jesus. He invites you to come, turn from sin, receive His forgiveness, and learn to walk with Him.
Bring God your honest questions
Perhaps someone hurt you while claiming to represent God. Perhaps you prayed and the answer you wanted never came. Your pain matters. The wrong done to you does not become right because someone uses God’s name.
The Bible gives us honest prayers of grief and questions. Psalm 13 begins, “How long wilt thou forget me, O LORD? for ever?” You can tell God what hurts and ask Him to help you see who He is through Jesus.
Coming to Christ does not require every painful feeling to disappear first. Forgiveness does not mean calling abuse acceptable or returning to an unsafe relationship. Healing can take time, with support and wise boundaries.

How can I know Jesus?
1. See God’s love in Jesus
Jesus Christ, the Son of God, came to save sinners. He lived without sin, died on the cross for our sins, and rose again. His invitation reaches you in your brokenness.
“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”
Romans 5:8 · KJV
2. Acknowledge your sin and turn toward God
All of us have sinned and need God’s forgiveness (Romans 3:23). Repentance means turning from sin toward God: being honest, asking His forgiveness, and surrendering your direction to Him. It is more than regret, and it is not a promise to become perfect by your own strength.
You are responsible for your own choices; the abuse or harm someone else inflicted on you is not your sin to confess.
3. Trust Jesus as Savior and Lord
You cannot buy salvation, earn it through good works, or become worthy enough to deserve it. Receive God’s gift by trusting Jesus—His death and resurrection—and calling on Him as Lord.
“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.”
Ephesians 2:8–9 · KJV
“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”
Romans 10:9 · KJV
Romans 10:13 promises: “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
You can respond to Him now
If you are ready to turn to Jesus, speak to Him honestly. This prayer is a guide, not a formula. Salvation rests in Jesus Christ, not in reciting certain words.
Heavenly Father, I come to You with my hurt, anger, questions, and sin. I believe Jesus Christ died for my sins and rose again. Please forgive me. I turn from my sin and receive Jesus as my Savior and Lord. Help me surrender my bitterness, trust Your love, and follow You. Teach me to walk in the new life You give. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
“If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.”
John 8:36 · KJV
Begin walking in your new life
“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”
2 Corinthians 5:17 · KJV
- Talk with God daily. Bring Him your needs, questions, gratitude, and struggles.
- Read the Bible. Begin with the Gospel of John to learn about Jesus.
- Connect with a Bible-believing church. Ask a pastor about baptism, discipleship, and Christian fellowship.
- Continue recovery with support. Build honest accountability and seek appropriate professional care when needed. Ongoing struggles do not mean that God has abandoned you or that your faith has failed.
- Tell someone you trust. You do not have to walk this road alone.
