Imagine a tired traveler who has wandered through a dense, unforgiving wilderness in total darkness, convinced they could find their way out alone. With every stride forward, the jagged terrain leaves them exhausted, bruised, and completely disoriented. Only when they finally collapse into the quiet dust, abandoning their self-reliance and crying out for assistance, do they look up to find a search party’s warm light hovering just inches away, having been near the entire time. In active addiction, we attempted to navigate our own broken paths through sheer willpower, denial, and pride only to end up emotionally crushed and shattered. True surrender begins when we stop pretending we have the strength to fix our own lives and admit that we are utterly powerless on our own. God never turns away from our moments of complete exhaustion; in fact, our willingness to acknowledge our limits is precisely where His presence becomes most real. When we drop our defenses and admit our deep need, we step out of isolation and into divine sanctuary. Admitting powerlessness is not a mark of defeat, but the very door through which God’s healing enters our hearts. By acknowledging our brokenness today, we invite the Lord to step into our daily struggle and anchor us in His gentle care. |
