Many people would throw it away, viewing it as completely ruined and useless. But in the ancient Japanese art of Kintsugi, master craftsmen repair broken pottery using liquid gold. Instead of trying to disguise the cracks, the gold highlights them, turning the broken areas into the most beautiful, valuable, and strong features of the entire piece. For years, we spent endless energy trying to hide our flaws, putting on a tough, unbreakable exterior so no one would see our hidden weaknesses. But God doesn’t require us to be unbreakable clay pots. When we drop our pride and honestly admit our powerlessness, His sufficient grace acts like liquid gold flowing directly into our cracked lives. He doesn’t discard us because of our weaknesses; He uses our very cracks as a canvas to display His magnificent power and healing. |
