Scripture (KJV)
3:40 Let us search and try our ways, and turn again to the LORD.
Lamentations 3:40
Inspirational Message
The Scripture for today calls us to consider honest self-examination. Faith is not merely a thought we admire; it is a response that changes how we speak, choose, and treat people. We can bring both our hope and our resistance honestly before the Lord, asking Him to show us the next faithful step.
Recovery connection — Step 4 — Made a searching and fearless moral inventory of ourselves. This is an invitation to practice truth rather than concealment. No one needs to pretend that yesterday was perfect in order to seek God faithfully today.
In community — Tradition 4 — Autonomy with responsibility. Healthy fellowship makes room for humility, responsibility, and care for those whose burdens differ from our own.
As you reflect, name one situation where this truth matters right now. Instead of trying to repair an entire life in a single day, choose one honest response, seek appropriate support, and trust God with the work you cannot complete alone.
Daily Challenge
Consider honest self-examination. Write down one concrete decision you can make today, take that step, and reflect this evening on what you learned.
Prayer for Today
God, help me examine my ways with courage and truth. Give me wisdom to recognize what is true, courage to obey even when the right choice is difficult, and humility to ask for help when I need it. Protect me from bitterness, denial, and discouragement. Teach me to make amends where appropriate, to extend mercy without excusing harm, and to remember that lasting growth comes through patient faithfulness. Strengthen those who are struggling today, and make me ready to offer practical kindness rather than easy judgment. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
