Imagine a crowded doorway where two people are trying to push through at the exact same time. As long as both individuals insist on going first, they collide, jam the passage, and nobody makes any forward progress. But the moment one person steps back, bows their head, and gestures for the other to pass through first, the blockage instantly clears and both can move forward freely. Selfish ambition and pride create constant friction in our lives, blocking the flow of God's grace and damaging our relationships. Humbly asking Him to remove our shortcomings means laying down our need to be first, right, or recognized. When we practice true humility by putting others' needs before our own, we align our hearts with Jesus and clear away the pride that keeps us stuck. True freedom is found not in exalting ourselves, but in lifting up those around us. |
