Willingness begins the journey to peace

Pursuing peace

Dear ,

“If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.” — Romans 12:18

One of the heaviest burdens we carry into recovery is the weight of broken relationships. We often feel paralyzed by the conflict and resentment that defined our past. While we cannot control how others respond to us, we are given a clear instruction: do everything in your power to foster peace.

Willingness is where the journey to peace begins. It means being the first one to lower your defenses, the first one to apologize, and the first one to let go of the need to be “right.” You are only responsible for clearing your side of the street; once you’ve done that, you can truly rest.

Think of one skill or personality trait you have. How can you offer that specific “part of yourself” to serve someone else today?

God, I offer myself to You—make me ready for Your work. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Remember, seeking help is a sign of strength, not weakness. You deserve a life free
from addiction

Sincerely,
The RGV Road to Recovery IA Team
