Stillness nurtures contact with God

Dear ,

“Be still, and know that I am God.” — Psalm 46:10

We live in a loud, frantic world. For many of us, staying constantly busy was a coping mechanism to avoid facing the quiet, painful realities of our own hearts. But spiritual growth requires a different rhythm.

God rarely shouts over the chaos of our lives; He speaks in a still, small voice that can only be heard when we stop moving. Stillness nurtures contact with God. When we pause, we remind our anxious souls that God is in control and we are not.

Turn off your phone and screens for 5 minutes today. Sit in total silence. If your mind races, gently bring it back to the phrase: “Be still, and know.”

Lord, quiet my heart so I can know You more deeply. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Remember, seeking help is a sign of strength, not weakness. You deserve a life free
from addiction

Sincerely,
The RGV Road to Recovery IA Team
