| | | “But who can discern their own errors? Forgive my hidden faults.” — Psalm 19:12 | | Imagine buying an old house and deciding to renovate it. If you only repaint the living room walls while completely ignoring the sagging roof and the hidden mold growing behind the bathroom tiles, the house will eventually crumble around you. A quick, cosmetic touch-up might look impressive to passersby, but true structural safety requires taking a flashlight into the dark, dusty corners and uncovering what needs real repair. In recovery, taking a searching and fearless moral inventory is like taking that flashlight into the hidden rooms of our character. We often fail to discern our own blind spots, mistaking self-pity for sadness or manipulation for protection. But when we invite God to shine His light on our hidden errors and motives, we aren’t looking to condemn ourselves. Honest self-review exposes the structural damage so that God’s forgiving love can rebuild us on a firm, healthy foundation. |

| Ask God to reveal one “hidden fault” or blind spot in your life that you have rationalized or ignored. Write it down and ask for His forgiveness and help to change. |
