In our past, we freely offered our bodies, our time, and our minds to our addictions. We were active instruments of our own destruction, and our actions caused pain to ourselves and everyone who loved us. We were entirely yielded to a cruel master. Recovery requires a radical transfer of ownership. Having been miraculously brought from spiritual death into new life, we are called to yield to a new master. We are asked to offer every single part of ourselves our talents, our resources, our words, and our hands to God. This is what true readiness looks like. It means presenting ourselves as empty, willing vessels, ready to be used as instruments of righteousness. When we place our lives in the hands of the Master, we stop creating chaos and start creating harmony. |
