 | | | | | “Give careful thought to the paths for your feet and be steadfast in all your ways.” — Proverbs 4:26 | | Think of an experienced tightrope walker navigating a high wire stretched between two high-rise buildings. They don’t just look ahead once and then close their eyes, hoping for the best. Every single micro-movement of their body is calculated. They pay intense, continuous attention to their center of gravity, wind speed, and foot placement, making instant, subtle adjustments to avoid a fatal plunge. Our spiritual walk in recovery demands that exact same level of daily vigilance. We cannot put our character or emotional life on autopilot. Continuing to take personal inventory means paying careful, moment-by-moment attention to the paths for our feet. When we notice subtle shifts toward pride, hidden resentments, or minor dishonesty, we don’t ignore them. By catching small missteps quickly and admitting them promptly, we stay centered, balanced, and steadfast on the road of freedom. |
