Our Principles of Fellowship and Service

Faithful to Christ. Accountable to One Another.

RGV Road to Recovery IA — Receive God’s Vision — is committed to a Christ-centered approach to recovery, spiritual restoration, fellowship, and compassionate service.

Our 12 Traditions establish guiding principles for how our ministry, leadership, volunteers, and affiliated recovery groups should serve others while maintaining biblical integrity, appropriate accountability, and responsible organizational practices.

These traditions encourage unity without sacrificing truth, compassionate participation without compromising safety, and faithful stewardship without allowing personal ambition or outside interests to distract from our mission.

Jesus Christ is our spiritual foundation. Humility, integrity, accountability, and service guide our work.

Unity in Christ Our common mission comes before personal ambition; we seek unity in faith, purpose, compassion, and recovery. Psalm 133:1 (KJV) Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!Servant Leadership Jesus Christ is our spiritual foundation. Group facilitators serve with humility and accountability, while organizational governance remains with duly authorized leadership. Mark 10:43–45 (KJV) 43. But so shall it not be among you: but whosoever will be great among you, shall be your minister: 44. And whosoever of you will be the chiefest, shall be servant of all. 45. For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.An Open Invitation Anyone sincerely seeking recovery, support, and restoration is welcome to participate, with respect for our openly Christian teachings and appropriate group safety standards. Matthew 11:28 (KJV) Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Responsible Group Autonomy Local groups may adapt their practices to community needs while remaining faithful to RGV’s mission, safety standards, organizational policies, and biblical foundation. 1 Corinthians 12:12 (KJV) For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ. Our Primary Purpose Our purpose is to carry the message of hope, recovery, salvation, and restoration through Jesus Christ. 2 Corinthians 5:20 (KJV) Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God.Integrity in Partnerships We collaborate with churches, ministries, professionals, and community organizations without allowing financial interests or outside influence to compromise our mission. Colossians 3:17 (KJV) And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.
Faithful Financial Stewardship We support our mission through lawful charitable contributions, grants, fundraising, and other appropriate resources, maintaining transparency and accountability. 2 Corinthians 9:7 (KJV) Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.Spiritual Ministry and Professional Boundaries We provide Christian recovery education, discipleship, and peer support, recognizing when licensed professional, medical, or emergency assistance is necessary. Proverbs 11:14 (KJV) Where no counsel is, the people fall: but in the multitude of counsellors there is safety.Accountable Organizational Structure We encourage servant leadership, appropriate delegation, responsible governance, and safeguards against exploitation or abuse of authority. 1 Peter 5:2–3 (KJV) 2. Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind; 3. Neither as being lords over God’s heritage, but being ensamples to the flock.
Mission-Focused Public Conduct We avoid unnecessary organizational involvement in divisive controversies unrelated to our Christian recovery mission, without compromising biblical convictions or legal responsibilities. 2 Timothy 2:23–24 (KJV) 23. But foolish and unlearned questions avoid, knowing that they do gender strifes. 24. And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient,Truthful Outreach and Testimony We share our message through compassion, education, responsible public communication, and voluntary testimony, never exploiting participants’ stories or promising guaranteed outcomes. Matthew 5:16 (KJV) Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.Confidentiality, Humility, and Trust We protect personal information, respect appropriate anonymity, and place biblical principles above individual recognition, subject to safeguarding duties and applicable law. The Invitation to New Life

Our Mission Begins With Jesus Christ

Whether you are struggling with addiction, supporting a loved one, questioning your faith, or carrying anger toward God, you are invited to explore the Gospel and the possibility of a renewed life.

Salvation is God’s gift through faith in Jesus Christ, not something earned through sobriety, recovery achievements, or service to an organization.
