Our Ministry Foundation
Preamble
RGV Road to Recovery IA — Receive God’s Vision — is a Christ-centered recovery and restoration ministry dedicated to helping individuals and families find freedom from addiction, destructive behaviors, and spiritual brokenness. We affirm the dignity of every person and offer a welcoming environment for honest questions, biblical instruction, practical recovery education, accountability, fellowship, and compassionate support.
What We Believe
Our Declaration of Faith
Our declaration explains the biblical convictions, spiritual commitments, and standards of compassionate service that guide RGV Road to Recovery IA.
| ✝ Our Declaration We believe in one God — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — and in the Holy Bible as the inspired, authoritative foundation of our faith and teaching. We believe every person is created in God’s image and is worthy of respect, compassion, and care. | ♥ Jesus Christ and Salvation We believe Jesus Christ, the Son of God, died for our sins and rose again. Salvation is a gift of God’s grace received through faith in Christ, not earned by sobriety, good works, or participation in a recovery program. We invite every person to turn toward God in repentance and faith. | ✓ Healing and Transformation We believe the Holy Spirit renews hearts and minds, equips believers to resist destructive behaviors, and cultivates godly character. Recovery includes honesty, responsibility, renewed thinking, healthy boundaries, reconciliation where safe, and ongoing spiritual growth. We do not promise immediate or guaranteed physical healing or freedom from every struggle. |
| ☀ An Invitation to Those Who Struggle We recognize that suffering, loss, and addiction may leave people angry with God, uncertain about faith, or fearful of judgment. They are welcome to ask questions and explore Scripture without pretending their pain does not exist. Our desire is to point them to the love, truth, forgiveness, and hope found in Jesus Christ. | ★ Community, Service, and Responsible Care We believe restoration is strengthened through Christian fellowship, prayer, discipleship, family support, and service to others. We seek to assist people affected by addiction, homelessness, disability, and other hardships. Our spiritual recovery resources complement, rather than replace, appropriate medical, mental-health, emergency, and other professional services. |
Our Commitment
We seek not only freedom from destructive behavior, but a life of repentance, restored relationships, spiritual maturity, and loving service. Our mission is to share the Gospel and help people receive God’s vision for a renewed life.
The Word of God
Our Scripture Foundation
The following passages provide the biblical foundation identified in our Preamble and Declaration of Faith. All Scripture is presented from the King James Version, with the spoken words of Jesus Christ shown in red.
| Freedom Through Jesus Christ John 8:36 (KJV) “If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.” | A New Life in Christ 2 Corinthians 5:17 (KJV) “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” |
| Confession and Salvation Romans 10:9–10 (KJV) 9. That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. | Saved by Grace Through Faith Ephesians 2:8–10 (KJV) 8. For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9. Not of works, lest any man should boast. 10. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. |
| The Fruit of the Holy Spirit Galatians 5:22–23 (KJV) 22. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23. Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. | The Great Commission Matthew 28:19–20 (KJV) 19. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: 20. Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen. |
The Invitation to New Life
There Is Hope Through Jesus Christ
Whether you are struggling with addiction, experiencing homelessness, living with a disability, grieving a loss, or carrying anger toward God, you are welcome to explore the message of salvation and restoration.
You do not have to pretend your suffering never happened. Our invitation is to discover God’s love, examine the truth of Scripture, and learn how forgiveness and new spiritual life are offered through Jesus Christ.
Salvation is a gift of God’s grace, not a reward for achieving sobriety or completing a recovery program.
